InVesting
To date, InVasc has completed its Series A and Series B round of fundraising through which $1.2 million have been raised.  InVasc is now offering a $4.0 million Series C Round of fundraising which is scheduled to close on 12/31/2008.  The Series D Round, anticipated to open in Q2 2009, will raise another $4.0 million.  The majority of proceeds from the Series C and D rounds will be used to carry InVasc's 2 leading compounds through Pre-clinical and Phase I clinical trials.

The long-term value growth of InVasc is reflected in the compound platform strategy which will generate a series of licensing agreements, milestone payments, and royalties.

An Increasing Market
InVasc was created to commercialize the development of novel therapies for the treatment of atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) and its related complications: hypertension (high blood pressure), strokes (cerebrovascular disease), amputations and impotence.

  • Heart disease and stroke account for nearly 40% of all deaths in the United States
  • One American dies of cardiovascular disease every 33 seconds
  • 70 million Americans, a quarter of the population, have cardiovascular disease
  • 2007 associated costs of cardiovascular disease & stroke in the US exceeded $430 billion, 7.5% greater than in 2006

InVasc Competitive Advantage

Many competitors are creating products that focus on one or two specific conditions. InVasc recognizes the overriding need to seek common and multiple pathways of mechanisms.

The leading types of cardiovascular drugs include anti-lipid lowering drugs such as statins, anti-hypertensives, and anti-platelet drugs. These three classes of drugs account for > 75% of the overall cardiovascular market share. Recent successes in the cardiovascular therapeutics arena have been very limited with spectacular failures in Phase II clinical trials. Moreover there is a critical shortage of pipeline drugs with no new drugs likely to be approved for prevention of heart disease by 2010.

InVasc also recognizes that drugs working on single pathways are unlikely to succeed in complex multi-factorial diseases such as diabetes and atherosclerosis. Similarly, single drug therapies that target a single pathway are likely to have a “therapeutic ceiling”, whereby despite using much higher doses than desirable, these drugs will not have additive benefits in preventing recurrent vascular diseases. Thus, InVasc’s approach, which simultaneously pinpoints multiple pathologic targets, is increasingly being recognized as a winning strategy in this huge market.

Partnership with InVasc – a Value Proposition

The key elements of the InVasc product strategy include, but are not limited to the following steps:

  • Establishing a portfolio of compounds by utilizing InVasc’s patented template-based strategy.
  • Expanding portfolio of InVasc compounds by licensing candidate molecules, templates, and technologies to pharmaceutical and other biotechnology companies.
  • Commercializing and licensing InVasc products by collaborating with major pharmaceutical companies thereby introducing products into global market.
  • Reinvesting into development of subsequent compounds
  • Revenues from royalties and milestone payments will also be leveraged to bring additional products through clinical trials.

The clinical and research management teams at InVasc have poised the company well in the realm of viable, cost efficient drug development. InVasc has created an infrastructure to acquire meaningful pre-clinical and clinical data (pharmaceutical, safety, and efficacy) necessary to advance its products to market.

Through the application of this core competency upon its extensive product pipeline, InVasc will offer an attractive opportunity for market partners and investors. Moreover, InVasc partners will see an early return on their investment due to the post-Phase II licensing of a line of pioneering pharmaceutical blockbusters.
